This week our article is from the Art room.

On Friday 6th February the Grade 6 students presented their School Captain speeches. It was an extremely proud moment as they overcame nerves and ‘butterflies’ and presented themselves to the students and teachers from Grade 3 – 6 and parents who were able to attend.

Congratulations to our House Leaders. Staff look forward to working with all student leaders across many areas this year.

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and we’re excited to be taking part! This year’s Challenge theme is ‘Stories to discover. Stories to tell’. Stories can inspire and challenge us and help us grow. They open our eyes to new worlds and new ways of thinking.

Family Challenge: There is an African proverb that says 'It takes a village to raise a child.' In Australia, instead of village we talk about community. This week we have the Axedale Quick Shear on and it's a great community event. The funds raised goes back into making Axedale great. 

Thank you to families and the wider community for placing orders for our engraved paver fundraiser. We have placed our order and can't wait for the pavers to be delivered ready to lay in our school grounds.

Over the holidays we were lucky to have Linton Torr on site, carving a platypus and goanna into the tree stump on the deck in the outdoor inclusive space.

We are very excited to share a Wellbeing initiative that we use at school. We are celebrating the successes of student behaviour and expectations.

Thank you to parents / carers who have returned the slip indicating an interest in being part of PVF and which days are most suited for meetings. We have quite a spread of days and times where parents / carers are available, which is fantastic but also a little challenging.
